LOGO EXPLANATION:
The sun represents God who has called us and who is with us wherever we carry out our mission. The sun has 7 rays – symbolic of the 7 sorrows of our Blessed Mother.
The tent represents our mission and is stamped with the seal of our Congregation, which identifies us as MPdA. The tent is held in place by 4 poles, which represent our 3 vows and our commitment to community life. These keep us rooted/grounded. The tent is being pulled and stretched to expand our mission by a group of Sisters in response to the call to “Expand our Tent”. The tent is red – the color of love (heart) and life (blood). It reminds us that mission should always be done out of love, and it should always bring life.
The 6 Sisters represent the 6 nations in which we are present. They differ in skin tone, which represents the diversity of cultures from which we come. They wear different colored habits, representing openness to the different needs of our ministries. Yet, the 6 Sisters are united in their mission and are working together to accomplish their task.
The green lawn represents our Mother Earth. It is light green, symbolic of new life, and a sign of hope. It is curved, like the earth, symbolizing our mission which is intended for everyone even if they are found in different places throughout the world. The Sisters are barefooted because they are on holy ground.
The sunflowers identify us as daughters of Mother Elisabetta. There are 7 flowers – one for each of our Charism Core Values which remind us of who we are and who’s we are. The 7 flowers do not stand alone – they are connected by a vine, which symbolizes our connectedness to one another.
