A NEW BEGINNING
Shreveport, Louisiana, June 21, 2020
“But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, he who formed you: Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.” (Isaiah 43:1)
Angela Chaeruka and Lydia Hide heard the voice of the Lord calling them as they were in their own land in Zimbabwe. When they met some of the Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows in Chegutu they listened to that call and understood that join this religious family was their way to answer to God’s call and become His. In discerning this call they started their training in Chegutu, continued it as postulants in Moreauville, Louisiana and they are ready now, to begin the novitiate in Shreveport, Louisiana. Their response to God becomes more and more concrete as they deepened their relationship with Jesus, learn the style of life of the sisters, the Constitutions, the history of this religious family and experience their ministries in the Church. The novitiate will be a two years long journey that will strengthen their call and their readiness to take the vows and become fully part of the Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows family. Their relatives, the sisters, their friends old and new, are close to them encouraging them, praying for them and wishing them a journey filled with joy and peace. Welcome Angela and Lydia!
